4×8 Design Competition

On Friday 2nd of June all the pieces made by the participants will be on exhibition for a open public event at Fab Lab Bcn located at IaaC. From a 4×8 piece of plywood are coming up different models based on design, functionality and interaction.
Amy Sun from MIT has been running the workshop since Monday 2nd of July.

Mobile Fab Lab

Mobile Fab Lab is a project from the MIT´s Center for Bits and Atoms and the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia. A Mobile Fab Lab has complete fabrication equipment to make almost anything. This video shows the first trip on the mobile drive in summer of 2007, the team was composed by Amy Sun (MIT CBA), Kenny Cheung (MIT CBA) and Tomas Diez (IaaC/reccomunidad). Fab Lab Bcn Launching Workshop

Prof. Neil Gershenfeld, Director of MIT’s Center for Bits and Atoms, and founder of Fab Lab Network, joined IaaC facilities for the launching of Fab Lab Bcn.
Fab lab is an ambitious interdisciplinary initiative that is looking beyond the end of the Digital Revolution to ask how a functional description of a system can be embodied in, and abstracted from, a physical form.
